This is a 100% original running, unmodified stock 1949 mercury coupe from midwest. I am the 3rd owner, and have had it for 7 years in a garage with the intention of restoring it.  Since I've owned it, it's had: new fuel pump, new voltage regulator, new ww tires, 1 new brake drum, all drums turned, 4 new wheel cylinders, brake shoes all around, master cylinder rebuild, hood release cable, fuel filter and heater hose.<br>The odometer posted is correct. The motor was rebuilt at 82,300 miles according to the original owners written maintenance record book, which goes to 128,600 miles. He passed after the turn of the century. It sat in a an equipment building for some time as the inheritors didn't know what to do with it. A mechanic bought it at an estate sale in Iowa, and I purchased it from him. It starts, runs, goes through the gears and the overdrive works. It's an ideal candidate for restoration, or hot rod as it hasn't been modified. Windshield visor, and 3-speed with overdrive. The upholstery is in great shape for a car 73 years old. Headliner has  a hole and a tear. Rocker panel rust, has been repaired in the past and there is some surface rust underneath and in the pictured areas over the rear fender skirts, and the front right under the headlight. The floors and trunk are solid. ( Low retail on this is $18,900, Hagerty "good" condition is $31,300) Any investment into a hot rod or restoration would only increase value. It's difficult to find an unmodified untouched 1949 coupe (73 years old) in this good of a condition.
